Medical disclaimer

This site is education. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a treatment plan. It does not replace 911, a clinician, or a hands-on class.

If someone is badly hurt, not breathing normally, choking, bleeding in a way you cannot control, or a child is not acting like themselves, call 911. Do it early. Do not wait for a webpage.

Take a CPR class and a Stop the Bleed class. A tourniquet in a bag is not the same as having used one on a trainer with an instructor watching.

I don't list medication doses anywhere. I don't tell you which medicine to give a child, or how much. If a kit contains over-the-counter packets, that is a contents note, not a recommendation. Use only what your own clinician has already told your family to use, and follow the label they gave you.

A letter is my opinion. Signed grades are the ones I set. The family letter comes from the weighted rubric, and it can be a D or an F. The job score is separate. A letter is not a promise that a product will work, and it is not a reason to delay care.

For choking, back blows and abdominal thrusts come first for adults and kids. For a baby under 1, it's back blows and chest thrusts. Take a class, and call 911.
